The King Is Coming — Are you following Jesus for who He is… or who you want Him to be?

As Jesus entered Jerusalem, the crowd began to shout, “Hosanna!”—which means, save now.

They were excited.
They were expectant.
But they didn’t fully understand what was happening.

They were looking for a King—but they wanted a political king.
They were looking for deliverance—but they wanted freedom from Rome.

Jesus came for something far greater.

He didn’t come to fix their circumstances first—
He came to deal with their sin.

And if we’re honest, we can fall into that same mindset.

We want God to change what’s around us…
while Jesus is focused on changing what’s within us.

Now here’s what’s important:

They weren’t wrong about who He was.
They were just wrong about how and when He would rule.

Because the same Jesus who came riding in on a donkey in humility…
is coming again in power and glory.

The first time He came to save.
The next time—He will come to reign.

And that’s the promise we hold onto this week:

He’ll be back.

Takeaway:
Don’t shape Jesus around your expectations—surrender to His purpose.

Prayer:
Lord, help me not just celebrate You, but truly understand You. Align my heart with Your purpose and help me follow You fully.
