This is the day everything changed.
By Thursday, Jesus had been betrayed, arrested, falsely accused, and condemned.
He was beaten.
He was mocked.
He was nailed to a cross.
And as He hung there, after hours of suffering, Jesus spoke these words:
“It is finished.”
Not “I am finished.”
Not “this is over.”
But “It is finished.”
Meaning the work was complete.
The payment for sin—paid in full.
The debt we owed—completely cleared.
The sacrifice—fully accepted.
What looked like defeat…
was actually the greatest victory the world has ever known.
And sometimes we miss that.
Because we still carry guilt He already paid for.
We still live under weight He already lifted.
Jesus didn’t go to the cross to make salvation possible.
He finished it.
Completely.
Fully.
Forever.
And that changes everything about how we live today.
Takeaway:
Stop carrying what Jesus already finished at the cross.
Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for finishing what I never could. Help me live in the freedom You’ve already provided.
