We have partnered with several local organizations to assist those affected. These organizations include local Farm Bureau offices, Cathedral Oak Academy, and Tanglewood Pizza Company.
Hello Friends Family,
I pray you are having an amazing week! After sending two teams last week to Western NC, I wanted to give you an update and explain our plans moving forward.
Last Week's Updates:
-
We had the opportunity to build a foot bridge for a local resident in Avery County who had no access to leave her property after the storm.
-
Our teams cleared & cut trees along roads and homes in Avery County.
-
Our teams delivered donated items to Oak Grove Baptist Church in Avery County for the community.
-
We met Mr. Jones in Mitchell County to pray & encourage him and his friends at the Mitchell County Recycling Center.
-
One of our teams got to help Pastor David and his wife, Debbie, who have served the Lord faithfully at a local church in the high country for over 40 years.
Moving Forward:
Since the destruction of Helene took place, we have sent 4 teams up to the high country to serve in various places and meet the needs of the community. Please know that as a church, we are committed to serving Western NC in the weeks and years to come. As needs and opportunities to serve become clear, we will act and organize more trips. For now, we are still collecting donations and will deliver them to our many contacts and partners up in the mountains. Please see the list above for all items we are collecting. We have also been directed to emphasize the need for sleeping bags & blankets - as many are still without power and cooler weather has arrived in the mountains! Please drop off all donations at the church office.
I am so thankful for all of our volunteers and the labor of love you all have shown to our community. We are going to watch God do great & mighty things as we continue to help our neighbors.
In Christ,
Greg Beaty
