The Day Love Was Crucified

Scripture Focus:
“But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.” — Isaiah 53:5

Reflection:
Good Friday — the day when the world grew dark and the Son of God hung on a cross. It was the day when sin was judged, justice was served, and mercy was poured out all at once.

From the mock trial to the brutal beating, from the crown of thorns to the cries of the crowd, Jesus endured it all with unwavering love. He could have stopped it — but He didn’t. He could have called angels — but He chose the cross.

As the sky turned black and the temple veil tore, heaven and earth stood still. The words “It is finished” weren’t words of defeat — they were a declaration of victory. The debt of sin was paid. The door to grace flung wide open.

Good Friday reminds us that salvation is free, but it was never cheap. It cost Jesus everything. And He gave it — joyfully — because He loves you.

Prayer:
Jesus, today I pause and remember the weight of Your sacrifice. Thank You for enduring the cross for me. Thank You for Your wounds that heal, Your blood that cleanses, and Your love that saves. Help me never take the cross lightly, but to live each day in awe of what You’ve done. Amen.

Takeaway Thought:
The cross is where love met justice. Never forget — the nails didn’t hold Him there. Love did.
