The Silence Between

Scripture Focus:
“So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch.” — Matthew 27:66

Reflection:
Holy Saturday is a day wrapped in silence. The tomb is sealed. The crowds have gone home. The disciples are hiding in fear and grief. Hope, it seems, has died and been buried.

But even in silence, God is not absent. Even when nothing seems to be happening, He is still working. Holy Saturday teaches us to trust in the waiting, to believe in the dark, to hold on when we don’t yet see the outcome.

For the followers of Jesus, this was a day of sorrow and unanswered questions. And yet, heaven was counting down the hours to resurrection.

If you find yourself in a season of silence or waiting, take heart. The story isn’t over. Even when God is silent, He is not still.

Prayer:
Lord, when I can’t see what You’re doing, help me to trust that You are still at work. In the silence, help me to wait with faith. Give me the strength to hope in the in-between, and the courage to believe that resurrection is coming. Amen.

Takeaway Thought:
God does some of His deepest work in the silence. Hold on — Sunday is coming.
