Palm Sunday: The King Who Came in Humility
Scripture Focus:
"Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he [is] just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass." — Zechariah 9:9
Reflection:
The streets of Jerusalem buzzed with excitement. Crowds lined the road, waving palm branches and shouting, “Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!” It looked like a royal parade — but this King rode in not on a war horse, but on a donkey.
Jesus entered not with displays of power, but with the posture of peace. The people were ready to crown Him with gold; He came to wear a crown of thorns. They wanted revolution; He came for redemption.
Palm Sunday reminds us: Jesus doesn’t always come the way we expect — but He always comes exactly as we need. Humble. Saving.
Prayer:
King Jesus, You entered the city knowing the cross awaited You. Still, You came — for love, for me. Help me to receive You not just in celebration, but in surrender. Not just with words, but with my whole life. May You rule in my heart today and every day. Hosanna in the highest. Amen.
Takeaway Thought:
Jesus doesn’t just want your praise — He wants your heart. He is the King who saves, not by force, but by love.
